Ellen Degeneres's plan to break the record for the most-retweeted "selfie" on twitter was a success, and it only took 34 minutes!

Currently, the tweet that @TheEllenShow posted has just under 3 million retweets, which surpasses the previous record of about 1.3 million retweets. Some of the celebrities in the "selfie" included Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Kevin Spacey, Angelina Jolie, and Bradley Cooper. The tweet Ellen sent caused twitter to crash, and @TheAcademy ended up apologizing for the crash twice on their page.
